The road to the National Championship did end in Indianapolis but a couple of days early. Some would say the Mountaineers lost to Duke, I would suggest the Mountaineers lost themselves saturday night in a lopsided 21 point defeat to the Blue Devils. Duke dominated the perimeter shooting a lights out 13 three's while three of their bigs scored 19 or more points..thats just too much fire power to overcome. If there was any blame I would say it was lack of defensive adjustment but honestly I cant find anything critical to say about our Mountaineers, they did the impossible, they beat teams the world said they would'nt beat, they won a conference the world said belonged to Syracuse, they beat a Kentucky team that at one time wa the number one team in the land, yes they did the impossible all because they believed in themselves and a coach that loved them as if they were his own sons. I cant say enough about Huggs, win or lose this man displays a passion and devotion for his players that you just dont see anymore. Bob Huggins has been beat up by the press by perceptions of him, not truths. I am so damn proud of this team and so damn proud of the state of WV that I will be beaming till September when the footbal team takes the field. One thing I wil say, Bill Stewart needs to tear a page out of the Huggiins coaching manual and learn to coach with the fire and intensity and stop with the goober like " my mamma and daddy didnt raise me like that" interviews. More on Stew as we get closer to the football season but for now lets give a collective salute to the best group of young men in all of sports. We are Proud OF YOU.
I will go back to the original look of the website next week. These past two weeks were dedicated to the state and team I love. West Virginia.

With as much as a 16 point lead late in the game, West Virginia held off a late rally by Kentucky to win the East Regional Finals and a trip to the Final Four in Indianapolis.

The West Virginia Mountaineers are 3 games away from a National Championship! West Virginia downed Washington out of the Pac 10 and while it wasn't a pretty win, a win is a win and we ou on our way the Elite 8.
Coach Bob Huggins...love that guy!
